Of course, for the people that absolutely want the Maida sound, there is going to be only this piano.but even if i don't want to go deep into the discussion about the sound of the room, i personally still don't think the sound of the room (talking in general here and not specifically only about the BBC piano) and how unique and exclusive it is,can justify bad programmings, poor depth of sampling, poor playability and inflated prices. RR for pianos are a nice touch don't get me wrong.but there is a reason why most of the market preferred a different approach and recorded more velocity layers rather than more RR.Īlso, the same old stuff about the mic positions.let's be real here, unless you are mixing your own music for atmos and for very high budget stuff, do you really need those 15 mic positions? 4 are plenty, but even then, if you are mixing you own stuff for atmos.are you really going to use the BBCSO piano in the final recording?
